Case History – RIM
reactive by definition
Lanulfi has been selected as a technology partner for making molds for the creation of components for the production of cannons for artificial snow generation.
The client approached Lanulfi for third-party advice to be able to choose the best technology for its product by putting with input:
- Mechanical features
- Resistance to low temperatures
- Annual volumes
Lanulfi guided the client toward choosing the best technology for its product; RIM was chosen for high-end product phasics and rotational for low-end product phasics.
Together we optimized the mathematics to make them suitable for the chosen technology so that we have a mold that allows for excellent parts without special rework over the life of the product.
Compressor roller crankcase
Lanulfi was commissioned to make the molds for the crankcases of a steamroller intended for critical applications such as construction sites.
The North American customer approached Lanulfi to make RIM molds a small production run of 20kits to be shipped before mold approval.
Lanulfi, thanks to its know-how, collaborated with the client to define the mathematics in order to eliminate any critical printability issues throughout the product cycle.
Electric bus panels
Lanulfi has been engaged in the fabrication of paneling for the outfitting of modern electric buses.
The client approached Lanulfi to have a supply of twenty very large molds, for making electric citybuses panels sizes from 2500x2800 H 500 to 4500x2800 H500 in a short time: 10 months.
Lanulfi, thanks to its investment capabilities and supplier network, was able to source resources and raw materials even in an emergency situation such as covid-19.
